Mgr Laurence Adam

Mgr Laurence Adam is a Scottish-British Sociologist, Film Historian and Theoretician, and Film Director,
MA, MA/BA Hons.
He holds an MA in Film Studies with Distinction from the University of Essex in England, and an MA/BA
Hons in Social Sciences from the University of Glasgow in Scotland with a specialisation in Sociology,
Anthropology, Archaeology and Political Philosophy. He has also trained as an archaeologist in the
Scottish Field School of Archaeology and studied Modern Studies, History and Economics at Angus
College. In addition, he has pursued Historical Documentary studies at EDN, European Documentary
Network, in Amsterdam. He is a graduate of George Watson’s College in Edinburgh.

His professional experience includes work as a Museum Curator at the Heatherbank Museum of Social
Work in the Glasgow Caledonian University, as a Marketing Manager for the Dundee Repertory Theatre,
and as a Business Director for Arts and Theatre Advertising for theatres, events and venues in Tayside
and Fife in Scotland. He is proficient in English and competent in French.

In parallel, Laurence has been active as a Film Director, with his work featured in film festivals worldwide.
His short film Incommunicado, produced in cooperation with Signals Media Arts in England, received
extensive public appraisal.

At present, he is an associate lecturer in continuing education and lifelong learning in Scotland, and an
academic instructor to university students at the Universities of Dundee, Abertay and St. Andrews.

Beyond academia and film, he has a strong interest in politics and an extensive knowledge of current
affairs and international relations. He is a reputable influencer on social media and an advocate for free
thought and free speech. With a large following on X (formerly Twitter), he regularly comments on politics and current affairs and participates in socio-political debates both in Britain and abroad.
